A deep negatively-tilted trough will be approaching the area from the west and northwest tonight. Associated low pressure and extended cold front is expected to pass through the area tonight and into the overnight. Showers and perhaps a period of light rain will begin falling across the area later this evening in advance of the front, which is expected to arrive near midnight or shortly thereafter. Much colder air and gusty winds are expected behind the front. Rain could mix with and even change to wet snow for a period time overnight until daybreak especially in nearby upstate New York and in the higher terrain of Northwest New Jersey. No accumulations expected.
Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy and windy with the chance of a shower. High temperatures only in the lower to mid 40s with Windchill value in the 30s. Winds will be from the west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 and 35 mph.
